Cell Groups

Cell groups are based around 5 principles called the ‘Cell Values’

Jesus at the centre

Community of Love and Honesty

Every member growing

Every member in ministry

Every cell multiplies

What are cell groups?

Our cell groups meet on most weeknights throughout the Gateshead and Washington area. They have the aim to grow deeper in God and enlarge the mission of the church.

What happens in them?

The groups all have the same format starting with a welcome, then worship, the word and ending in witness. This provides an opportunity for people to grow through witness and evangelism and as people grow in they faith so the cell grows until it reaches a point where it has to multiply.

What about me?

If you are interested in joining a cell group or would simply like more information, please contact us via our email address mtgproject@hotmail.com

How do they work?

Each group is a is open to all who want to know more about Jesus and are seeking to apply the Bible to everyday life through study material and what is taught at Theophany.

Overall cell has the aim for people to grow in mission and to grow deeper in God.

Mission

Through the power of the Holy Spirit:
Through evangelism,

Through social action,
Through missionary activity,
Using of our God-given gifts and abilities

‘Cell Values’

Through Jesus Christ:
By using worship, praise, prayer, and
bible study which allows everyone to
grow in fellowship with one another.

Deeper in God

What others say?

What cell means to me is a deep sense of fellowship in a small group of people. Being able to share ones thoughts, worries and fears in confidence. Knowing that with Jesus at the centre there is love and trust with one another, every person is special, valued and encouraged to participate and contribute through Gods word. Duncan, Heworth

Cell is a very important role in my life. Without cell and the friends I have in it I don’t know if I could get through. Cell is a part of the week where I can share things in confidence that I would never share in a large group. Ashley (18 years), Deckham.

With cell you can become part of a new family who love and accept you and help you to grow in your understanding of the mystery of life, making the bible relevant to you and helping you to receive life and joy now and for all eternity. Yvonne, Gateshead.

Cell groups are important in the Christian life. We know we can talk to each other in strict confidence and what ever we say we know that no one will laugh or ridicule us. We can share hopes or dreams or things that have happened to us as well as exploring the bible and our beliefs in Christianity. We are always there for each other and ready to help if called upon. Ron, Pelaw.
